The first student-mentor meeting of the “Let Mentor be the CEO” program organized by Istinye University Collaboration with Industry Sector was held. The students of the Department of Health Management, 1st and 2nd grade students of Middle East Medikal A.Ş., have been working in the program to help them make a successful entry into business life by getting consultancy from CEOs who have made their mark in the business world while preparing our students for the future and business world. yön.kur.bşk. Mr. Aydın made a visit to Harezi on Thursday, 21 March.
Mr. Harezi welcomed our students in his office and shared his experiences in business life from past to present. He touched upon strategies to overcome the challenges that can be encountered in the career path and to maintain success. Emphasizing the importance of teamwork, Mr. Aydın sincerely answered the questions of our students at the end of the meeting.

On Monday, March 11th, an information meeting was held for the first and second year students of Health Management Department about Erasmus Interuniversity Exchange Program. Lecturer. See. At the meeting organized by Pınar Özbilen, information was given about the English Exam and the universities with which our department has a contract. Students' questions about the application procedure, education and living opportunities abroad were answered.
As the Health Management Department, we aim to have more students benefit from the Erasmus Program in 2019-2020 Academic Year.

December 18th Health Managers 'Day was celebrated with a program titled ı Students' Perspectives on the Future of Health Management düzenlen organized by our department. The event, which started with the speech of Prof. Dr. Melih Bulu about the career vision of health managers, continued with the speech of doctor lecturer Dilek Kolca, a lecturer explaining the opportunities in the academic field in health management. The Health Management Club held a seminar on Hukuk Law in Health, the legal responsibilities of the personnel working in health services ’on 20 December in Conference Hall 2. The seminar, in which Dr. Nezih Varol was a speaker, was held with the participation of students from the health management and medical documentation and secretariat departments.
Dr. Nezih Varol explained the practices that health managers can develop in the field of law in health with their experience from the field. Emphasizing the responsibility of serving the community, Varol stressed the importance of the trust relationship between healthcare providers and beneficiaries. The interactive speech was completed by answering the questions from the students.

He participated in the Health International Health Conference ’event organized by Hugh’s College with a paper titled Effect The Effect of Occupational Health and Safety Practices on Job Performance Health.

Founder of Sigorta Akademi, Ali CİVAN shared his experiences and knowledge about the health sector with the students at the conference entitled “Health Tourism in New Generation Health Management and Internet & Social Media in Marketing of Health Institutions” organized by Health Management Student Club.

Dr. Gülhan Kalmuk from Department of Health Management at Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences presented the paper entitled “Investigation of the Effect of Entrepreneurial Behavior of Healthcare Professionals on Innovation: A Case Study of a Private Hospital” 17th International Congress of Management organized by İzmir Katip Çelebi University.

Head of Healthcare Management Prof. Dr. Hacer ÖZGEN NARCI presented a paper entitled “An Investigation of Decision-Making Styles and Associated Factors in the Public Healthcare Sector of Turkey”, which was prepared with Specialist Nürşen Şen and Dr. Gülhan Kalmuk’s contributions, at the 6th International Scientific Conference organized by Warsaw University of Technology on 19 April 2018.

Academicians of the Healthcare Management Department Prof. Dr. Hacer ÖZGEN NARCI and Dr. Gülhan KALMUK participated in HTLS Leaders of Health Technologies Summit held in Swissotel The Bosphorus Istanbul on 27 March 2018 Tuesday. Many people from healthcare, technology, universities and NGOs participated in the chronic diseases-themed summit.

Dr. Gülhan KALMUK and Res. Ass. Osman ÖZKAN presented their joint paper entitled “Investigation of the Relationship Between Lean Practices and Demographic Characteristics in Healthcare Professionals: The Case of a Private Hospital” at‘7th International Lean Hospital Congress organized by Bursa Private Medicabil Hospital between 29-31 March 2018.

The Head of Department of Health Management Prof. Hacer ÖZGEN NARCI and students of the department attended a program entitled “The Importance of Patient Services as the Vascular Life of Health Institutions” organized by Liv Hospital Ulus on March 31, 2018. In the program, the current status of patient services, staff turnover, applications for patient satisfaction, modern management in patient services, career management, issues of the occupational unionization were discussed. Trained manpower needs in the healthcare sector is increasing day by day due to technological innovations and increasing number of health institutions. It is important to use the necessary knowledge and skills for the management, operation and planning activities of healthcare institutions and organizations. For this reason, Healthcare Management Student Club organized a conferance about “Where Health Management Goes in the World?”. Liv Hospitals Group Coordinator, Meri İstroti, come together wiht the healthcare management students and share her experiences and knowledge.

TÜSPE Health Policies of the Scientific Committee Member Professor Melih BULUT, M.D. visited to our Healthcare Management Department and shared his experiences. We would like to thank BULUT for his contributions.

“15th. Health Management Department Heads Workshop ” was held by Istanbul Medeniyet University Department of Healthcare Management on December 22, 2017. 35 Department heads and faculty members from several universities graduate and undergraduate programmes, participated to the workshop. During the workshop, a number of issues were discussed and joint decisions were made, such as the organization of core training programs in Health Management, employment of health managers and the organization of professional congresses for the effectiveness of training. These decisions are expected to contribute to the development of vocational training, specialization on the basis of the department and the employment of our colleagues to perform administrative, technical and financial services in health institutions and to increase awareness of health management.

As İstinye University Healthcare Management Department, we took part in the special edition December issue of the Hospital Manager Magazine.

Head of Healthcare Management Department Professor Hacer ÖZGEN NARCI, PhD. participated in the SABAK Evaluator Training Programme on February 17, 2018 in Ankara. This program will serve for the education of accreditators who took part of healthcare management undergraduate programs.

Core Curriculum (SAYÇEP-2017) has approved by the Higher Education Board to make a standardization Healthcare Management degree programs in Turkey. Istinye University Head of Healthcare Management Department Professor Hacer ÖZGEN NARCI, PhD. is chairing the SAYÇEP-2017 Commission Meeting which formed by the Heads of Healthcare Management Departments in Universities in Turkey. The Commission held its first meeting on 20.01.2018.

Head of Healthcare Managament Hacer Özgen Narcı, PhD. was the chairman of the “7 th International Congress on Performance and Quality in Health.”

İstinye University Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences Department of Health Management students, 32 universities with the participation of 1250 students attended the Health Management Summit in Ankara.
