News from Department

The students from the International Relations department visited the Organization of Turkish States as part of the Contemporary Turkish World course.

The "Hospital Management Certificate Program" began on May 28 under the supervision of our department head, Asst. Prof. Gülhan Kalmuk, and with the assistance of the Istinye University Continuing Education Center. This program aims to develop strategic management skills for managers in the health sector, which is one of the significant areas of investment in our country. We want to thank the managers of Medical Park and Liv Hospital and the esteemed academicians of Istinye University for their contributions to the program.

Our 4th grade students, who did internship at MLP Care and Public Health Institutions for 1 year within the scope of Professional Practice, stepped into the management of health institutions with successful case presentations. We would like to thank all managers who contributed in this process, especially MLP Care managers. We congratulate all our students and wish them good luck.

The results of Tübitak 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program have been announced.

Burak Babadağ's project titled "A Research on Determining the Effects of Flexible Working on Inequality in Business Life" under the consultancy of our International Trade and Business Administration (English) Department professor Elif Çiçek, under the consultancy of professor Yasemin Torun Selin Erdoğan's "Digital Applications of Generation Z on Privacy and Security of Personal Data" Its project titled "Attitudes Towards Its Use" and one of our department students Zeynep Sude Arkun's Economics department professor Çiğdem Gürsoy "Is it Possible to Implement the Green Supply Chain in the Textile Sector in Turkey?" His project titled Tübitak 2209-A was accepted to the University Students Research Projects Support Program and deserved to be supported.

Üyesi Çağla Özer'in ortak çalışmaları olan "Sürdürülebilir Unsurların Gelişmesine Katkıda Bulunan Bir Yaratıcı Ekonomi Alanı: Gastroekonomi" adlı makale Journal of Tourism Intelligence and Smartness adlı dergide yayınlanmıştır.

Regarding the Great Marmara Earthquake, which is the biggest potential threat of Istanbul and the Marmara Region, and Urban Problems, Prof. Dr. Yusuf ERBAY gave an interview to "Yalova Haberci Newspaper".
Former Governor of Yalova Prof. Dr. YUSUF ERBAY talked about the difficulties that the city and the region may experience in the face of disasters and the administrative steps to be taken especially for earthquakes.

International Relations students projects were accepted in the Tübitak 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program.

İstinye University Department of Economics' Students are entitled to take support for both of their two projects for TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Supporting Program.

The 1st International Belt and Road Initiative and Turkey Symposium will be held at Istinye University on May 30-31, 2022 with the theme of "The Contribution of the Digital Silk Road to Developing Countries and Turkey's to Digital Silk Road".

Professor Mine Afacan Fındıklı, Phd., Dean of FEASS & Head of Business Administration, was invited to “Business World & Women of Galatasaray” as a speaker by Galatasaray Association

We hosted Taylan Obuz, Field Sales Manager of DHL Logistics, as part of our curriculum with industry professionals. Obuz gave a presentation titled "Incoterms in International Trade" to our students and explained his experiences and observations about the sector both theoretically and practically.

Prof. Florin Dan Puscaciu and Rose Marie Puscaciu from Danubius University in Romania and Nazmije Ramis Merko Zabzun from the University of Struga in North Macedonia met with our students and department staff. Our guest lecturers, who attended classes in line with their fields within the scope of the program, shared their knowledge and experiences to our students.

Every Sunday during Ramadan, students and academicians from the Department of Healthcare Management volunteer to help the Kartal Kızılay Branch's food parcel distribution. We want to express our gratitude to the Kartal Kızılay Branch, academicians, and students for providing us with the opportunity to do good, assist, and most significantly, touch the volunteers on such a memorable day.
