December 18th Health Managers 'Day was celebrated with a program titled ı Students' Perspectives on the Future of Health Management düzenlen organized by our department. The event was rector of our university, Prof. Dr. Melih Bulu, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences Gülsüm Gökköz, Head of Health Management Department Dr. Gülhan Kalmuk and doctor lecturer Dilek Kolca, Head of the Program for Medical Documentation and Secretarial.

The event, which started with the speech of Prof. Dr. Melih Bulu about the career vision of health managers, continued with the speech of doctor lecturer Dilek Kolca, a lecturer explaining the opportunities in the academic field in health management. Head of Health Management Department Faculty Member After the presentation of Gülhan Kalmuk, which emphasized the prominent issues in the future of health management, the speeches of health management students started. Hilal Gülbak, one of the 2. year students in Health Management “Historical Process of the Hospitals” Sena Çayırlı “Health Tourism”, Betül Dağhan “City Hospitals” and 1. Grade Selin Solmaz made “Employment in Health Management sunum presentations. We discussed the student perspective on the future of health management within the framework of the presentations prepared.

The Health Management Club held a seminar on Hukuk Law in Health, the legal responsibilities of the personnel working in health services ’on 20 December in Conference Hall 2. Faculty member and Medical Park Hospitals Group Legal Counsel. The seminar, in which Dr. Nezih Varol was a speaker, was held with the participation of students from the health management and medical documentation and secretariat departments.
Dr. Nezih Varol explained the practices that health managers can develop in the field of law in health with their experience from the field. Emphasizing the responsibility of serving the community, Varol stressed the importance of the trust relationship between healthcare providers and beneficiaries. The interactive speech was completed by answering the questions from the students.

ISU Student Talks 2 - Television as a Public Relations and Advertising Media organized by Istinye University Public Relations and Advertising Department was held on January 27, 2018 at the Topkapı Campus of İstinye University with the participation of the speaker and producer Bora BALAR.

The importance of video production in social media content was discussed in the conversation organized by the Public Relations and Advertising department with the participation of Demet Işıl Yılmaz.

Founder of Sigorta Akademi, Ali CİVAN shared his experiences and knowledge about the health sector with the students at the conference entitled “Health Tourism in New Generation Health Management and Internet & Social Media in Marketing of Health Institutions” organized by Health Management Student Club.

Dr. Gülhan Kalmuk from Department of Health Management at Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences presented the paper entitled “Investigation of the Effect of Entrepreneurial Behavior of Healthcare Professionals on Innovation: A Case Study of a Private Hospital” 17th International Congress of Management organized by İzmir Katip Çelebi University.

Head of Healthcare Management Prof. Dr. Hacer ÖZGEN NARCI presented a paper entitled “An Investigation of Decision-Making Styles and Associated Factors in the Public Healthcare Sector of Turkey”, which was prepared with Specialist Nürşen Şen and Dr. Gülhan Kalmuk’s contributions, at the 6th International Scientific Conference organized by Warsaw University of Technology on 19 April 2018.

Academicians of the Healthcare Management Department Prof. Dr. Hacer ÖZGEN NARCI and Dr. Gülhan KALMUK participated in HTLS Leaders of Health Technologies Summit held in Swissotel The Bosphorus Istanbul on 27 March 2018 Tuesday. Many people from healthcare, technology, universities and NGOs participated in the chronic diseases-themed summit.

Dr. Gülhan KALMUK and Res. Ass. Osman ÖZKAN presented their joint paper entitled “Investigation of the Relationship Between Lean Practices and Demographic Characteristics in Healthcare Professionals: The Case of a Private Hospital” at‘7th International Lean Hospital Congress organized by Bursa Private Medicabil Hospital between 29-31 March 2018.

The Head of Department of Health Management Prof. Hacer ÖZGEN NARCI and students of the department attended a program entitled “The Importance of Patient Services as the Vascular Life of Health Institutions” organized by Liv Hospital Ulus on March 31, 2018. In the program, the current status of patient services, staff turnover, applications for patient satisfaction, modern management in patient services, career management, issues of the occupational unionization were discussed. Liv Hospital General Coordinator Meri ISTİROTİ' end the program by thanking the guests and presenting their plaques.

Trained manpower needs in the healthcare sector is increasing day by day due to technological innovations and increasing number of health institutions. It is important to use the necessary knowledge and skills for the management, operation and planning activities of healthcare institutions and organizations. For this reason, Healthcare Management Student Club organized a conferance about “Where Health Management Goes in the World?”. Liv Hospitals Group Coordinator, Meri İstroti, come together wiht the healthcare management students and share her experiences and knowledge.
