As the Management Information Systems Department, we held a meeting with Insurtech Hub Istanbul General Manager Andrew Warburton, AcerPro InsurTech & Bancassurance Co-Founder and President Fatih Acer and InsurTech Hub Program Leader Ebru Sakine Şevli to talk about the changing insurance industry with artificial intelligence. At the meeting, a comprehensive evaluation was made about the effect of empathy economy in the insurance field, how this effect can change with artificial intelligence, how repetitive work in the sector can be optimized, and the improvements that can be made in processes through chatbots. Not only artificial intelligence, but also its possible uses in gamification, in explaining the policy and rights to the customer, and ways to create a cultural change in individuals in the concepts of health insurance and life insurance were discussed. A consensus was reached on the insurtech field being included in the agenda of MIS students and the idea that it could be a new profession/study field. As the MIS Department, we will continue to cooperate with different sectors and to bring new study collaborations to our students.
Short Description: Artificial intelligence is reshaping many sectors in different ways. Insurance, which is among these sectors, gains a new face especially with the definition of "Insurtech". The reports published recently in this field show that the power of artificial intelligence will affect insurance at three points, thanks to an effective data policy.
