Assist. Prof. Dr. H. Ufuk Gökçe received his PhD in the area of AI assisted Energy Optimization in 2011, from the National University of Ireland (NUI-UCC), Department of Engineering. He completed his Master Degree in 2007 at TU Dresden (Technische Universität Dresden), Germany in the area of Information Technologies. Dr. Gökçe holds two BSc. Degrees in Information Technologies and Business Administration both completed in 2005. He has 10+ years of hands-on, international experience in the Energy and IT sectors. This has led strong methodology and policy developments for organizations and research institutions in Germany, Canada, Ireland and Turkey. His main fields of research interests are AI backed Energy Optimization, Renewable Energy Technologies, IoT, Ubiquitous Sensor Networks, Data Mining, DSS, Wireless Network Embedded Systems and Object Oriented Programming. Among his research career at the National University of Ireland, TU Dresden Germany, and University of Alberta Canada, he has worked at IT sector in one of the leading semiconductor manufacturer AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) in Germany. He also managed/involved three energy efficiency projects supported by IRC and European Union in Ireland. He managed/involved four energy efficiency projects at TU Dresden Germany and University of Alberta Canada which are funded by EU and NRC. Currently he is leading EU and Germany funded R&D projects in the area of Energy Optimization, Renewable Energy Technologies and Zero Emission Mobility in his Germany based academic spin-off company EOS GmbH. Dr. Gökçe has 60+ peer reviewed Journal and International Conference publications. He has written/contributed to 50+ Research Reports. As invited speaker, he has given 50+ presentations and speeches in International Conferences, Summits and Workshops. He is a member of several international and professional organisations such as Energy Efficient Building European Initiative (E2BA), World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies (WSSET) and invited reviewer of ASCE Journals.
